A Four Year Alternative Program

The Institute for the Psychoanalytic Study of Subjectivity offers a four year psychoanalytic training program with a distinctive emphasis on the systematic study and clinical applications of psychoanalytic self psychology and intersubjectivity. Candidates will acquire a background that includes classical psychoanalytic theory, ego psychology, and object relations theory. The training program is designed for a group of candidates whose interest in psychoanalysis extends beyond clinical practice to the development of psychoanalytic theory and research. Hence, there is equal emphasis throughout the program on the acquisition of clinical psychoanalytic competence and the pursuit of scholarly excellence in theoretical and research contributions.
