Offering Two Tracks

NIP TI offers two tracks toward meeting New York State psychology licensure requirements for PhD and PsyD applicants.

Track One

This part-time fellowship requires a two-year commitment of 20 to 24 hours per week. Fellows work with others

1. handling telephone inquiries
2. conducting initial intake interviews
3. providing therapy to 5 to 10 patients
4. conducting test batteries for adults and children

These hours include weekly group supervision (Mondays), weekly individual supervision with a NYS licensed psychologist (TBA), weekly group case presentations and weekly practice workshops (both on Fridays).

Personal therapy is suggested but not required. Remuneration is $10/hour.

Track Two

This unpaid full-time one-year fellowship is for those doctoral degree applicants who want to enter NIP TI's four-year Adult Analytic Training program. This fellowship involves all of the above tasks, supervisions and workshops. However, in addition, the Fellow will take all course work with first year analytic candidates (including a second group supervision) for a total of 35 hours/week. Courses are held one day/week. NYS licensure requirements will be met after one year.

Tuition and supervision fees are waived for Fellows/candidates during the first year of the four-year program. Personal therapy is required all four years with the Fellow/candidate responsible for her/his therapy costs.
