What is structure of the One Year Evening Program (OYE)? [ Return to Top ]

The One-Year Evening Program is a one year course of study with two courses each Tuesday evening from 6:15pm to 9:00pm. It meets for 15 sessions each semester.

What does the OYE Program offer on completion? [ Return to Top ]

On completion candidates receive a Certificate of Completion as well as CEU credits.

Why would someone enroll in the program? [ Return to Top ]

This program is designed to meet ongoing learning needs for professionals who want to enhance their clinical experience in the work setting and to further their knowledge of psychoanalytic theory.

What courses are offered? [ Return to Top ]

There are two courses offered each semester. One course focuses on the theoretical development of psychoanalysis beginning with classical theory and moving to the evolution of contemporary models. The second course focuses on clinical application of psychoanalytic concepts. Case material from the student's work setting is utilized. An integration of theory and its application is emphasized.

Yes, patient assignment with supervision is available for applicants who want a clinical component.

Is supervision offered? [ Return to Top ]

Individual and group supervision is available for students who are licensed and are insured for malpractice. Supervision is required for those students seeing patients at NIP.

Is there a requirement to be in therapy? [ Return to Top ]

No, however, those students participating in the clinical component, one-time weekly therapy is required.

Can credits from the OYE Program be applied to the Adult Analytic Training Program? [ Return to Top ]

Yes, $300 towards tuition.

$1,650 for the year-long program.
